The Story

Amish Country Organics, By Rohrer Seeds

About- By far our most popular beet! This classic, versatile variety has rich color and texture that is well known within the gardening community. Enjoy both the roots and the greens to make the most of this tasty treat.

When and Where to Plant- Sow seeds in the garden as soon as the soil can be worked in early spring. Seeds will germinate in 5-15 days. Select an area with loose soils and full sun.

Care and Harvest- Harvest anytime after the root reaches 1" in diameter or as desired. Twist off the leaves rather than cutting to prevent "bleeding" which causes less intense color and perhaps less flavor as well.

Planting Depth- 3/4"

Seed Spacing- 1"

Spacing Between Rows- 12-18"

Days to Germination- 5-15

Space After Thinning- 3-4"

Days to Maturity- 65

Approximate Seeds per Pkt- 200-250
