About- With a pleasantly sour, lemony flavor, sorrel has long been cultivated for culinary delights! With arrow shaped leaves growing out from a center rosette, you can harvest from the plant several times. Leaves are often pureed for soups or added to fresh salads.
When and Where to Plant- Plant outdoors after the last frost. Prefers average, well-draining soils that are exposed to full to partial sun. Soils amended with organic material are preferable but not necessary.
Care and Harvest- Broadcast and lightly cover seed. For new plants, wait 3 months to harvest the first leaves and avoid harvesting leaves that are under 4 inches long. Harvest throughout the season as desired. Store leaves in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze to preserve aver longer periods of time.
