The Story

As one of the most common and well-known cover crops, buckwheat benefits soil in many ways. Buckwheat's deep roots allow it to use phosphorus to grow. Phosphorus is usually found deeper in the subsoil making it unavailable to most plants, but when buckwheat releases the residual phosphorus into the soil it becomes available for other crops. In addition to its benefits as a cover crop, buckwheat is also extremely beneficial to pollinators.

-Plant in early spring through the end of August.

-Plant seed 0.5" to 1" deep.

-Sow 4 lb. per 2,000 sq.ft.
